What Do CBN & CBG Do?
Posted on May 24, 2023

Both CBN and CBG are two non-psychoactive cannabinoid compounds found in the cannabis sativa hemp plant. They are less known than CBD and THC and hold their own therapeutic properties and are becoming more popular compounds found in wellness products.

WHAT IS CBN?

CBN stands for cannabinol. CBN has been shown to act as a sedative to calm the nervous system and help the body react more optimally to internal and external stimuli. CBN is considered to be more relaxing than the wider known cannabinoid CBD, which many people already take to calm the mind.

WHAT IS CBG?

CBG stands for cannabigerol. CBG is found in much smaller amounts in the plant than some of the other compounds. It is a rarer cannabis derivative, but that has not stopped its growing popularity.

CBG can help regulate your stress, anxiety, and depression. Those that take CBG feel calmer and more relaxed. There is evidence that shows CBG is a better up-regulator of the neurotransmitter GABA when compared to CBD and THC. GABA is an inhibitory chemical that slows down nerve cell activity calming the neurons in the brain.
