Why This Orthopedic Surgeon Recommends Pterostilbene

Hi, Dr. Meredith Warner here:

Let me give a quick introduction before we dive into Pterostilbene. I am an orthopedic surgeon, Air Force veteran, and founder of Well Theory.

The supplements I make for Well Theory are the same supplements I’ve recommended to my patients for years. I want them, and now you, to experience the functional and lifestyle improvements that come with the right diet, exercise and supplemented nutrition.

With every Well Theory product I create, I’m able to share these solutions with more people, and not just my patients.

I’ve added the Pterostilbene antioxidant to the Well Theory line-up because it easily pass through cell membranes—making it more available to support cellular pathways. When taken daily Pterostilbene fights excess free radicals that can lead to cellular destruction and low-grade inflammation.

"Supplements like Pterostilbene are being looked at in their ability to assist NMN’s efficacy in the human body, working alongside the NAD+ molecule in its many cellular functions. Both Resveratrol and Pterostilbene are highly antioxidant polyphenols that can neutralize free radicals and promote cellular health."

Loaded with Antioxidant Benefits

As an antioxidant, Pterostilbene combats harmful free radicals that can lead to oxidative stress. Its anti-inflammatory properties can also reduce low-grade chronic inflammation by inhibiting COX-2 enzymes. Incorporating Pterostilbene into your daily routine can help to promote healthy joint tissue and alleviate painful symptoms of inflammatory conditions.

HEALTH GOAL #1
OXIDATIVE STRESS
When free radicals outnumber antioxidants in your body, oxidative stress occurs. Oxidative stress can impact your heart health, and promote increased inflammation throughout the body.
HEALTH GOAL #2
METABOLISM REGULATOR

Pterostilbene helps increase insulin sensitivity, which lowers blood glucose levels by converting glucose into usable energy. Weight loss is achievable through stimulating metabolism, lowering blood sugar, reducing appetite, and increasing energy

HEALTH GOAL #3
HEART HEALTH

Studies have shown that Pterostilbene has the ability to improve cholesterol and blood pressure to improve cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.

Free Radicals & Oxidative Stress

Pterostilbene is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in plants, similar to resveratrol, but more powerful. Pterostilbene is the main antioxidant component found in blueberries.

While you can eat blueberries to get your pterostilbene, you would have to eat a lot of them to get the up to 250 mg suggested dose. Eating an entire pack of blueberries (6oz) would only get you about 0.03 to 0.18 mg, meaning you’d have to eat a ton of blueberries to get the full effects of pterostilbene!

You can receive many benefits from incorporating more pterostilbene in your daily life. That said, we recommend that you still eat blueberries for the fiber!

Pterostilbene is a highly antioxidant polyphenol that helps the body fight off oxidative stress caused by an imbalance of free radicals in the body. It’s highly bioavailable, meaning it can more readily pass through cell membranes—making it more available to support cellular pathways. This makes it very effective at neutralizing free radicals that can lead to chronic inflammation, cell death, DNA mutations, and more that affect the body in a variety of areas.

"Oxidative stress is brought about by mental stress, toxins, environmental polutants, and bad diet."

Recent studies show that pterostilbene has blood sugar-balancing effects, similar to those of metformin. Pterostilbene has also been found to help burn excess calories, by aiding the brown adipose tissue (a type of fat in the body) in producing more heat to burn more calories. It has also been found that Pterostilbene may improve insulin sensitivity by blocking sugar from being converted into fats. Therefore, preventing the fat cells from enlarging.

How to get results with natural medicine

1. Have a mindset of wellness over time: Don’t Expect It To Feel Like A Synthetic Drug. The timeline for better health with natural medicine is longer than with synthetic pharmaceuticals.

2. Addressing Root Cause: Natural remedies attempt to address the root causes, or the cellular beginnings of a given problem, pain, or inflammation. Naturally, this will take a bit longer and be less noticeable initially. But the results are wonderful.

3. Few Known Side Effects: My Well Theory products are formulated with higher doses of plant-based ingredients to deliver steady results over time – without the harmful side effects found in traditional pharmaceutical applications.

4. Get Blood Work Done: There are inflammatory markers you can check to determine your progress.

5. I Take Everything We Make: I wholeheartedly believe in the power of natural supplements.
