The Playful Parent: The Importance of Parents Staying Active with Little Ones
Posted on Jun 24, 2016
It's the season of summer and we all know what that means: playtime. Kids that enjoy their summertime depend on their parents staying active. This is the time of year that families usually get a chance to take family vacations or just spend quality time with the kids. You may find yourself going to the park to play more after work or during the weekend. Even though there is a lot of joy and quality time that comes from these activities, it can be very exhausting if you are not prepared. Here are some helpful tips on how to keep up with your kids this summer. If you are not going on a vacation and plan to stay in town, look for local events that are happening for free. Cities and organizations usually have many different types of events during the summer due to the majority of children being out of school. Check your local city schedule of events website to learn more. This is a great way to expose them and even yourself to different organizations, hobbies, and whatever else is going on in your area. 2. Wear Light, Dry Wick Clothing When parents are out with children, messes and accidents are bound to happen. Additionally, it can become very hot outside during the summer and nothing kills a fun mood more than being hot and uncomfortable in heavy clothing. Whenever you're out and about, look for lightweight, dry wick clothing. This modern type of material comes in bright, summery colors and will keep you much cooler and comfortable than ordinary t-shirts and jeans. Also, depending upon the water resistance of the material, dry wick clothing can also be life saver for moments when those juice boxes seem to spontaneously combust out of the blue. Simply wipe it off and you are good to go. This allows you to focus more on the fun and less on the mess. 3. Wear Supportive Comfortable shoes Last but not least, the shoes that you choose to wear can make or break the fun time with your kids. Even though it is the summer time, cute, yet unsupportive sandals are not the ideal choice when it comes to a play day with your children. If you have your heart set on wearing your feet out, look for sandals or flip flops with supportive features. This is a smart way to make sure that your feet do not start hurting or become overly fatigued. There are a lot of great things that you can do to be active with you kids this summer. Remember that planning ahead and wearing summer ready clothing and supportive shoes is key to everyone having a great time. How Exactly Does The Healing Sole Keeps You Moving? The Healing Sole is a treatment method in the shape of a flip flip. It is not a traditional flip flop. Most flip flops are very flimsy with no support, they do not provide arch stabilization, they do not engage the windlass mechanism, they do not have a rocker bottom sole to de-stress the foot and they do not have a variable compression zone in the posterior aspect of the shoe. The Healing Sole combines all of these features into a single, reusable treatment device that can be purchased over-the-counter. So, while most flips flops aren't designed to promote foot health, The Healing Sole is.
